New Zealand takes a CLOSE UP look at Dunstan Baby Language
Close Up - New Zealand's highest rating current affairs programme presented an in depth feature on the Dunstan Baby Language DVD.

Close Up interviewed two New Zealand mothers who 'road tested' the Dunstan Baby Language with their new babies. One of the mothers said 'it saved her life'. She was amazed that once she learned what to listen for, she could hear babies 'talking' everywhere, "When I was at The Palms Shopping Mall I could hear all these other babies saying the Dunstan sounds".

Another mother who road tested the DVD found it harder to use the System. "Long periods of unexplained crying can be overwhelming," observes Dr. Maureen O'Brien, child psychologist and Director of Education for Dunstan Baby. "Anything which encourages parents to stop, take a deep breath and listen to what their baby is trying to communicate is a positive."

It is always great when mothers and fathers share their experience from learning the Dunstan System.

"Sometimes it takes parents by surprise to learn what their babies actually need," explains Ellesha Kirby, Marketing Director of Dunstan Baby, and features in the Close Up report. "Burping is a perfect example - we just don’t expect babies to need to burp as much as many do. We forget that they lie flat on their backs all day which makes it hard for them to get the air up themselves. When parents know what to listen for it can make all the difference to help settle their baby".
